JOKHANG (2)Love must be as much a light, as it is a flame. ~ Henry David Thoreau

A small enclosed room in front of the Jokhang filled with candles in which Tibetan buddhists offered prayers. In January 2004, it was the warmest, coziest room I could find in Lhasa and served as my place of refuge from the cold. When I returned in 2007, it had been shut down by state authorities and remains shuttered.
