Known as the last village in Yunnan, Qiunatong is a small administrative hamlet at the foot of the Nujiang Gorge on the border of Tibet. It was connected to the state electrical grid and received a paved road and mobile reception in early 2010. Before then, villagers sourced their own electricity from a nearby, fast flowing stream while visitors and travelers hiked. ©2008
